Built in 1770 on the foundations of an ancient temple, Panagia tou Giorgis is considered one of the first monasteries of Kasos.
In the area of Panagia, near the complex of the Six Churches, is the Panagia tou Giorgis. It dates back to 1770 and is dedicated to the Presentation of the Virgin Mary. It is built on an ancient temple — a continuation of worship in the same place that is repeated in several parts of the island — and is considered one of the first monasteries of Kasos.
