The church that gave its name to the most populous village of Kasos has adorned the settlement since 1862.
The large church of Agia Marina dates back to 1862 and gave its name to the homonymous village — the most populous on the island, built on a hill overlooking the sunset and known for its cobblestone streets and captains' houses. It is celebrated on July 17 with a traditional festival.
The temples of Agia Marina
Agia Marina is not the only notable church in the village: in the same settlement are also the Holy Cross, with its marble iconostasis, as well as the church of Christ. The density of churches here reflects the general image of Kasos, an island with over a hundred churches and chapels in a few square kilometers.
