Our mission

The Association of Kassians in Greece is a non-profit association founded in 1928 with the aim of connecting the Kassians of the diaspora with their island. Its main objectives are:

  • The gathering of its members
  • The dissemination and preservation of the cultural heritage of Kasos
  • The organization of spiritual events
  • Material assistance to Kasians in need
  • Promoting the interests of Kasos

To achieve these goals, the Association maintains an office and a reception center in Athens, establishes committees for each field of activity, organizes lectures, exhibitions, festivals and excursions, and since 1983 it has been publishing its magazine, «Kassiotikos Palmos» and since 2015 «Palmos tou Kasiotis», with historical, folklore and current issues about Kasos and the Dodecanese. The last issue covers the last quarter of 2025 and the continuation of the publication is being examined by the Board of Directors.

Board of directors

The Association is governed by a seven-member (7-member) Board of Directors, with a three-year term, which is elected by the regular members during the General Assembly. The Board of Directors consists of the President, the Vice President, the Secretary General, the Treasurer and the other members of the Board, and draws up the action program of the Association.
