Ammoua Beach

Πανοραμική άποψη του οικισμού και του λιμανιού του Φρυ στην Κάσο

To the north of Kasos, a small sandy beach hides beyond Katarti — lesser known, but ideal for those who want to see the island's sunset from a quieter corner.

Just off the coast of Katarti, in the northern part of the island, lies a small sandy stretch known as Ammoua. Its name refers to the nature of its terrain — sand instead of pebbles, something relatively rare on the rocky coasts of Kasos. Its west-facing location makes it one of the most popular spots on the island to watch the sunset, as the sun slowly sinks behind the Aegean horizon.

The beauty of Ammoua lies more in its simplicity than in any particular historical event: it is one of the smaller, more discreet beaches of northern Kasos, away from the hustle and bustle of Fry, where the quiet and the color of the sky in the afternoon are the main attraction for the visitor.
