Between two mountain ranges that protect it from any wind, Chelatros is one of the most peaceful beaches of Kasos — a bay where the sea almost always seems calm.
Southwest of Kasos, Chelatros beach is naturally protected by mountains on both sides, which prevents the wind from disturbing its waters. The result is a pebble beach with bright blue waters, where the sea maintains a rare calm even on days when the weather is stronger elsewhere on the island.
The surrounding landscape is serene and almost untouched, giving the feeling of a small, natural oasis protected from the rest of the world. Despite its isolation, easy access by car makes it accessible, thus combining the feeling of escape with relative ease of travel.
